Yeah, long time, no blog. Seasonal disorder makes me hate these short days, dark, dark, dark too early. I had hoped to get some writing in but alas no. I only got a few pages done. Winter is usually a good time to write but this time my muse wouldn't budge. She's getting back in stride now though so hopefully I'll have a new book out soon.

Between Christmas and my Feb birthday I got about 5 mystery boxes. It was fun opening them and discover what treasures were inside. Some were AMZ others were just plain mystery. I'm gonna sell what I don't want at Triple Treasures Market Place May 9th in Hardenville, MO. That's my next in-person event. I had planned to do one this month but something came up and I had to cancel.  RL gets in the way sometimes.

I'm going to be working on my next WIP like I was supposed to be.

The WIP is Deadly Sea, EV companion book. I want to finish my Elemental Voice series. I have over 14 books out yet not a series is complete. 4 of the 5 main series books are out and 2 of the 4 novellas are out. I also want to get one of my Fallborn dragon books out this year.  I'm being ambitious this year I want to get three book out before the end of the year. 

I'm still looking for events close to me to vend at but when you live in the middle of nowhere Missouri it's hard. Most events happen on the East or West coasts and the cost of travel would be prohibitive. But my dream is to go to JordanCon at least one year as a goer then as a vendor. Gotta have a dream right?!

As of right now there are two novellas, a 'companion' series to EV, Deadly Sands and Deadly Flames. Right now I have the ideas for just the four novellas, two of which are published as stated, but with my muse being so fickle who knows if more may come. The third novella is started as I mentioned above. Book 5 of EV is slated to at least be started next year though.

 December. This year has been both fast and slow. Days seem to go by slowly but the months themselves have flew by.  I had things I wanted to do but atlas they have not been done.  Two more books were slated for this year to be pubbed, however they were not even written. Seasonal Disorder hit me around October and I just did not have a lot energy to work much on my WIP.

I was also late with my Winterization of my trailer and my housekeeping has been bad. Looks like a tornado or a bomb has gone off inside. My meds keep me stable for the most part but sometimes I just feel so tired. Increased dosage doesn't always help. But settling down with a slasher movie does. Yelling at how stupid the people are--going into the basement at night, answering the door when you're alone, running outside towards creepy sounds. You got to know the horror rules. Scary Movie franchise has shown us that.

Anyway, I'm going to get myself back into steady writing. Anyway we will see what the new year brings soon enough.

November. The year is almost over and I really have nothing to show for it. My takings for this year were sucky. I only sold about 10 books this year combined for the in-person events. The online sales were down too. I didn't count them but I could tell without that. So much for a better economy for all.

Anyway we will see what the new year brings soon enough.

Halloween Month. October is here which means Halloween is just around the corner. I no longer dress up or go out as there isn't any social Halloween events here and I probably couldn't afford most anyway. If I ever win the lottery I will have a yearly Halloween event. Dressing up and having an event with both adults and kids. Halloween is a holiday that everyone can let out their inner child and not be judged. 

And it's time for winterizing my trailer. This month I'll be readying my trailer for the Winter. Setting up the skirting around it and checking the furnace. The gas tank is still optimal so I can wait on a fill up for awhile. I also got to do a little clean up before the winter blues take over. It's getting darker earlier and it makes me blue. 

But I do like the extra writing time.

It's September which means Hootin An Hollarin, a craft fair here in Gainesville MO on the third week of the month. I'll be manning my booth that Friday and Saturday as always. Thursday evening usually doesn't generate sales so I skip that, but participate for the two full days. There will be demonstrations and games as well as the craft displays. 

September is a transitional month, the time between summer and fall. The weather is gonna be even more unpredictable. Some days will be cooler, others hot. Missouri weather is already unpredictable but it really gets so in September and October, especially October. Halloween can either be warm or freezing depending on Mother Nature.

May already. Almost half way through the year. April was indeed wet but the flowers have already bloomed and many have come and gone. 

Still working on my WIP. Didn't get it finished because my muse is adding things and I had to do a re-write and other things. I'm getting it done this month one way or another. It's a little different than my other books. I have another book I want out before September as well so this is getting done.

 A little late with these posts this month. Yesterday we lay chad on our driveway so I was outside all day, except for mealtimes. We finished an hour before dark. I didn't feel like writing any thing yesterday evening so I watched a video after checking all my emails. 

Now that the weather is getting nicer I'll be doing 'projects' with my Dad and most of the time not being indoors long until suppertime. Not all the time but usually at least once a week or other week. That's what I'm here for according to my parents, to help so they get what work they can from me. :)

My muse has been somewhat fickle but I have gotten a bit of work done on the one WIP. I just need to step it up and get it completely done so I can publish it by next week.

March Madness is here.

Seriously, though we're already 3 months into 2025 and it is chaos. Not locally, at least not yet. But I'm sure it won't be long til we feel it here. I don't know if the US will make it to June much less the whole 4 years of this. 

But enough of that. Possitivity. I got some writing done on my WIPs. I have til the end of this month to finish at least one of them so it can get pubbed. My muse has been being fickle but she's been working on them so that's definitely a possitive.

This last year seems to have gone by awfully fast. It's January already of 2025.

2024 was a year of firsts. In May I did my first in-person event at TTMP in Hardenville, MO. I did my first newsletter and did my first Book Funnel promo in October. I also put out bookmarks on my table for the first time. Bookmarks that I made that is. I'll probably keep doing that. My muse liked making them.

I will see.

I was supposed to have two more in-person events before the end of the year.  But Triple Treasure Marketplace at Hardenville, MO on November 9th got washed out. We had torrant rain a few days before and they were calling for rain that day so it was called off.  Next will be the Christmas market downtown on December 6th. I  reserved a spot for that. And I'm prepping for that. Hopefully it won't be too cold as the event is outside.  UPDATE 12/16: I was only at the Christmas mart for 2 hours as it got cold once the sun went down, not that it was warm before but it got real cold. I made one sale and handed out some cards.

 October is here and Halloween will soon be upon us. There is something in us that likes the thrill of horror in movies and books, that jolt of fear and anticipation--As long as it is only in movies or books.  

Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. We can let ourselves go. Let that creature inside us out for a bit. And the candy isn't bad either. :) As an adult I don't get to indulge as much any more, except in books and movies. There's no Halloween parties for adults here. That doesn't mean there aren't spectacular Halloween decorated houses around but no parties--unless it is for children.  If I ever get a house, large enough to host, I'm going to have a Halloween party, even if no one else shows up, every year.  For both adults and kids.

Time to Winterize my trailer and get things situated before the cold gets here. The cool mornings are nice change from the Summer heat and humidity. But Winter in the Ozarks is not very nice at all. The old adage about waiting 5 minutes if you don't like the weather is very true here.  Morning can start out nice but by afternoon you can have harsh conditions. The opposite can happen but rarely. Usually if the day starts harsh it stays harsh, sun shining or not. However we don't get the snow fall that the Northern states get which I'm happy about.  I'm hoping for a mild Winter this year. While I like the time indoors to get writing done I do get cabin fever. Winter is not the best time to go for a spontaneous walk.

The third Friday and Saturday of this month is Hootin An Hollarin, a local craft festival here in Gainesville, MO. I'll have a table there with my books and a few things my muse has been working on instead of writing. If you're in the neighborhood stop on by and enjoy the craftmanship of many local artisans and crafts persons as well as the delicious food that will be available.

I've been working on the next Time-Lost book, Emergent. 2 more chapters/episodes and it should be done on Vella. Then I just need to wait the 30 days before I can publish. I want it out before the tenth of September so I can have it at TTMP in Hardenville in November. My muse is being her fickle self and working on a new Vella as well as other things, more so than the Emergent one.

The third Friday and Saturday in September is Hootin An Hollarin, a local craft festival here in Gainesville, MO. I'll have a table there with my books and a few things my muse has been working on instead of writing. 

I've been working on the next Time-Lost book, Emergent. 2 more chapters/episodes and it should be done on Vella. Then I just need to wait the 30 days before I can publish. I wanted it out before the end of August so I can have it at Hootin an Hollarin in September but it don't look like it's going to happen. My muse is being her fickle self and working on a new Vella as well as other things, more so than the Emergent one. 

I'm still looking for events close to me to vend at but when you live in the middle of nowhere Missouri it's hard. Most events happen on the East or West coasts and the cost of travel would be prohibitive. But my dream is to go to JordanCon at least one year as a goer then as a vendor. Gotta have a dream right?!

My T.L. books(the Ghostwolf series, the Fallborn, and the Time-Lost series) are out on Ingram Spark now. Several AMZ accounts have been closed due to piracy and I don't want mine to be one. That way all my eggs are not in one basket, incase the basket gets snatched(terminated)

 As of right now there are two novellas, a 'companion' series to EV, Deadly Sands and Deadly Flames. Right now I have the ideas for just three novellas, two of which are published as stated, but with my muse being so fickle who knows if more may come. The third novella is started but it is way down the queue right now. Book 5 of EV is slated to at least be started next year though.

They are set in a world where psychics consult regularly with the police and vampires live next door. The FMC Sara reads the earth like a medium hears the dead and finds dead bodies for the local sheriff's office in the first book then works with her vampire FBI agent fiancee in the later books. There is to be five books in this series.  I may come back to this world and do a new series. Depends on my muse and time. I have soo many books in my writing queue.

I'm welcoming the month but not the heat. It's been hot, boilin' even. Thank God we have A/C. We still have this month and August to go yet. It usually cools down a bit in September, though it's still hot.

I'm still doing a contest for Book 5 of Elemental Voice Spirit Talker. I am looking for names of certain characters. The book is in the 'planning' stage, meaning I'm writing the book bible right now and thus doing character names and place names for the book. I need names for the Orro Clan matriarch, her PA, her security chief, and the secondary villain as well as a morally grey assassin. Most of them are vampires except for the secondary villain.

 6 months into the year already. Another 6 months and this year will be gone.

Hopefully this summer will be fair but with the hot days we’ve been having between the rains that may just be a dream. Global Warming has sure messed with Earth’s weather a lot. But I guess we’re stuck with the consequences of our ‘Free Will’ decisions that others have made for all of us.

I need a sit down with my muse and get more crap done on Vella.  Kindle Vella authors get bonuses for various things. April's bonus was a lot less than March's, However the Zon changed some of the rules in Vella in mid March. So everything is up in the air right now.  And they really don't tell you the criteria for the bonuses, though it does have something to do with the reads as well as the updating and reader participation.

This year I did a new in-person event. It happens again in November. I did okay at the May 4th event. I sold 14 books which I think is good for my first time there.
