Post 38

 I've decided to push an elemental book up next in the queue. 

Which I don't know yet. I'm still working on Book 2 of Ghostwolf and on The Elemental Detective novella right now. As soon as I finish them, I'll decide which of the two books I'll work on next. I work on one main book and keep another open for my writer's block writing. Book 3 of Ghostwolf will be the writer's block book but I don't know if I should do Book 4 (wind whisperer) of Elemental Voice or Book 3 (Deadly Waters) of the companion series. Whichever it is it will be written in the same style as the other book(s). 

 If you haven't already please check out the books I have out of the Elemental Voice series. 

At least the first book. It was as I say below the first book I wrote. 

And I'm partial to it. :) 

I added the backstory of how Sara got her gift to this blog under Pages. I scribbled it down before I wrote Earth Reader to get where she was coming from mentally and emotionally. I haven't touched it since I wrote it. Hope you enjoy it. Link: Drabble

I have another novella The Null Agent in the wings. The Elemental Detective and The Null Agent could turn out to be first in series books. I don't know. I only got the single story ideas but my muse is so fickle.

Now on to the regularly scheduled post:

This is the blog for my elemental books. These books will all be variants on elemental magic.

The original series is an Urban Fantasy called Elemental Voice. It is set in a world where psychics consult regularly with the police and vampires live next door. The FMC Sara reads the earth like a medium hears the dead and finds dead bodies for the police.

The first book is called Earth Reader. Fire Walker (book2) and Water Ferrier (book3) are out. Number 4 (Wind Whisperer) is in the works. There is to be five books in this series.

These older books are in what I call 'movie style' or pulp. Fast paced and action oriented with little description and a lot of dialog. They are also my first books, full of my inexperience but also full of my creativity. I have left them as is. Sentimentality. This series will be finished. However they are further down the queue. Unless someone can persuade me to make them jump the line. :)

There is also a 'companion' series to EV.

Deadly Sands is out and Deadly Flames is now out too. Book 3 of the trilogy is in the works. They go into the relationship a bit more and are set around vacations that turn into busman's holidays. Can her vampire FBI agent boyfriend keep her safe when death joins them on holiday?

I will be adding more books as they come up in the queue.  Some will be standalones and others will be series standalones.

  I'm working on my Ghostwolf Series right now as they are at the top of my queue. So the updating of this blog may be sporadic. Deadline is coming up fast and my Muse is being difficult.

My Muse is so fickle. I never know what it's going to do. I can sit in front of the computer and nothing happens, then go off somewhere and suddenly I get a flash of a story. But not always the one I want to work on. So I work on the one I got the flash for. I'm good with having a piece of paper and pen nearby to write down the flash before it disappears when I'm at home. However I usually get the flash when I'm outside doing something or driving to/from town. Which means I forget half of it by the time I get back home. Frustrates the heck out of me.

They say 'good' writers don't just write when the mood hits them. I do write everyday, just not always on the story I should be working on. And I don't force myself to write more than my flash or burst. As long as I write it doesn't matter if it's one sentence or one chapter.  You never work a day in your life if you're doing something you love. Forcing yourself will lead to it becoming work and maybe burnout.

I have too many stories in my head to fool around with burnout. They need to come out, if only to make room for others.

I also have another book out. Mortal Voice is an Urban Fantasy set in the contemporary world circa 2018. So, sorry no vampires here, lol. But Jaci does have the same 'gift' as Sara. MV is the first book in a series of its own. This series has two more books to go. She sees secrets in the Earth. Will she find the evidence in time or is she destined for a grave herself?

 I'm working on my Ghostwolf Series right now as they are at the top of my queue. So the updating of this blog may be sporadic. 

However I usually have one or two other books open as well. When I get Writer's Block on the main story I go to my secondary/third books and work on it/them until I get unblocked. Right now I am working on two novellas and Deadly Waters(the third in the EV companion series) book bible as my Writer's Block stories. I'm hopping around as ideas for all of them have been flashing through my head.
